This course is taught by making projects (i.e. letterboxes, braziers, etc). You will cover tech drawing and calculations and the design and planning of metalwork projects. In the workshop, you will be hands-on in measuring, cutting, fabricating and welding. You will also gain job risk analysis and incident reporting!
This course includes week night and weekend workshop sessions only.
This is a course for those looking for a career in general engineering, fitting, engineering maintenance, metal fabrication, or marine engineering. This course will give you the required foundation skills to launch your career, as well as the opportunity to gain credits towards NCEA Level 2
